The Center for Advanced Studies in Child Welfare is celebrating 20 years of education, research, evaluation, and training in the field of child welfare with two special events:

Beyond Burnout: Secondary Trauma and the Child Welfare Workforce

Additional Details about the Conference:
We are pleased to feature keynote presenter Dr. Brian Bride, PhD, LCSW, Associate Professor and PhD Program Director at the School of Social Work, University of Georgia. Dr. Bride will provide an overview of secondary traumatic stress (STS) in the field of child welfare, including, symptoms, screening and the importance of addressing STS at both an individual and agency level.
Following the keynote presentation, we have invited Erika Tullberg MPA, MPH, Administrative Director of the ACS-NYU Children's Trauma Institute and the Co-Chair of the National Child Traumatic Stress Network Child Welfare Committee to discuss the Institute's Resilience Alliance intervention, which addresses secondary traumatic stress experienced by child welfare staff.
Finally, a panel, including a local practitioner and administrator, will react and interact with our two speakers on the potential local impact and application of their STS research.
The event will be broadcast from the TCF Bank Stadium, DQ Room at the University of Minnesota. Registration and check-in for the event will begin at 12:30pm.
Participants may earn 3.5 CEU's for their attendance.

From 5:30-7:30pm please join CASCW staff, Title IV-E Alumni, and friends for a reception honoring the field's work and practitioners.
The event will host speakers who are critical voices in child welfare practice and policy.
From 4:30-5:30pm you will have the opportunity to have a private tour of the University of Minnesota's new TCF Stadium, learn about the many services and resources provided by CASCW, and mingle with alumni and friends (Goldy Gopher may even make an appearance! Heavy hors d'oeuvres and a cash bar will be provided.
